Прозові твори Еміля Балецького: стиль, тематика, проблематика

Abstract

Резюме. Еміль Балецький – відомий мовознавець, та мало відомий письменник, що обумовлено насамперед його особистими пріоритетами й напрямками діяльності. Сам митець за життя рідко згадував про свої художні дописи, тож і не дивно, що вони є маловідомими читацькому загалу, а отже, й недостатньо досліджені, чим і обумовлена актуальність нашої розвідки.

Abstract. The article provides an overview of the prose works by Emil Baleczky included in the publication “Emil Baleczky. Literary Heritage” (Edited by András Zoltán, Mihail Kapraly. – Nyíregyháza, 2007. – p. 178 [Studia Ukrainica et Rusinica Nyíregyháziensia, vol. 20), in particular, of the section «Prose» (pp. 65–107). The author of the article analyzes the stylistic features, ideological and thematic content. The main thematic groups are distinguished: according to reference criterion personal and psychological themes predominate (love theme, often first love, the theme of maturity of a young person and life trials, the theme of friendship), moral and ethical themes (human morality, freedom, love and betrayal, sin and penance), socio-political (the problems of «lower class», orphans’ lives, the relationship between the poor and the rich), environmental themes (illegal deforestation), existential themes (life and death, human fate, life choices). The analysis allowed to conclude that Emil Baleczky’ prose works were written in romantic-sentimental style; the topics of his interests include: the fate of the common man, life’s twists that break human destinies, painful memories of the first love, passion for freedom and creativity.
